Sierra Lite Rides

A message from Laurie Bell:

After hearing from several members and non-members about the fast and intimidating rides our club offered, JoAnne Ban and I decided to start leading rides that offered an alternative for the folks that wanted a slower paced ride. A ride where they could meet other cyclists with similar cycling interests and skills.

Most "lite" rides offer a range of distance from 12 to 20 miles. Often there is the opportunity to extend the ride. The rides are posted to the listserv group of club members. There will be a Sierra Lite ride every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Sometimes we have a Lite ride on the "other" Tuesdays and a Saturday now and then. In summer we ride at 8 or 8:30, winter 9:30 or 10, spring and fall in-between.

I encourage anyone out there that has hesitated to try one of our Sierra Lite rides or anyone that has shown up for a ride and still feels "too slow" or "always last" to give us another try. I understand that there are much stronger riders that show up for our Sierra Lite rides and I do not want to discourage them from coming - any ride offers an opportunity to get out on our bicycles! No worries, we just let them do their thing and we do ours.

What I do want to encourage is that you show up. There is no one that is "too slow" and you won't be "always last". I will be last with you. And no one is left behind.
